6 months!

Evie turns 6 months old today! So crazy! We just came home from her dr visit and she weighs 13.14 lbs and is 25 inches long. Weight (surprise surprise) is in the 10th percentile and height was surprisingly in the 25th percentile! We thought she was short and chubby but apparantly she is average in height and skinny! Ha! She is doing very well with all the homemade food. Seems to love it all, not really refusing anything. Good eater. She prefers her food over her bottle. We are down to only 4 bottle a day now. She goes to bed around 7:45 and wakes around 5am to play but finds her thumb and goes back to sleep until about 6:45. Her temper seems to be softening (except when she is tired.) She takes just about everything Em dishes out. Em says Evie is her best friend :) Time of course is flying by and I can't believe we are half way to 1! Crazy! I am exhausted from these wild girls but I do love every minute. ok, well maybe not every minute but you get the idea! Having fun in the Sharp house! So love this age!!

evie is 5 month

Evie is growing so much so fast! This month she is rolling over from belly to back and back to belly. Sometimes going quit a distance if I leave her alone too long! Em helps her momentum just a tad! Speaking of her older sister... I do believe Evie has no feelings as far as pain from Em goes. Emmalyn loves her very much and most days just plays so well with her, making Evie laugh out loud and reading to her. Randomly Em will bop her on the head, smack her stomach, pinch her nose or cheeks, try to feed her things she shouldn't...you get the picture. Typical sib rivalry! Evie never sheds a single tear though. She just goes about her buisness as if Em is not even there! I have a feeling Em will get what's coming to her eventually. Evie is becoming quit a brute! She's got short chunky thighs and has been filling out a lot lately! She has discoverd her feet. She is still sucking her thumb and fingers most of the time. Last week we switched back to the Dr. Browns bottles that we used with Em due to Evie's gas, fussiness, and refusal to sleep! It work! She has no gas, she is not fussy at all, and has been taking 3, yes 3 naps every single day and sleeping through the night since we switched!!!! Yeah!! I had a dream the first night that God told me my little storm was over...showing me a dark, windy storm out my bedroom window and just like that turned to a bright sunshining day! So far, it is true! Our house stays pretty busy and Evie is the perfect addition. She is just as active as Em if not more! Look out world! The Sharp girls have arrived! Oddly enough I see them conspiring against me already! Em does something rotten and Evie just laughs hysterically (of course making Em do it even more!) Prayers are always appreciated! Hahaha!

Genevieve's 4 month appointment

Well no surprise...we have another "tiny" on our hands!! Eves is 12.12 lbs (10th percentile), 1 ounce less than Em at this age! Length 24 inches (10th percentile), 2 inches shorter than Em was! Head circumfrence 16 inches (10th percentile) same as Em at 4 months! Hey, at least she is proportionate! Ha!

Everything else is looking great! We were glad because we suspected an ear infection because she will go 3 days straight with no naps!! Nope, her ears are fine and the Doc says she just doesn't need a whole lotta sleep! Great! Another active lady! Well, it'll keep my going I guess!

4 months!

Tomarrow Evie will be 4 months old! I will be rather busy with my first day at a new salon so I'm posting a day early!

She is growing so much and sooo fast! She is laughing at Em a lot and is officially rolling over on purpose. We haven't seen back to belly but belly to back almost every night and morning when she wakes up! She just laughs, and smiles all the time, except when she's in her car seat! She doesn't mind wants the car gets up to 60mph speed but in town driving is no fun! She screams and gets so mad! She had cereal for the first time yesterday and ate it all like a champ! She seems to be much hungrier these days. She is mostly still getting up once a night but sometimes goes a couple days in a row sleeping the entire night! She always falls right back to sleep with no problem! She enjoys her exersaucer but is still just kind of leaning forward in it for now. She hates poopy diapers and waiting for her bottle. When she's hungry, she's hungry and you better have it NOW! I am interested to see how much she has grown. Her appointment is April 4 with a new family doctor we found in Lancaster. Time is flying by with #2. I am savoring every moment that I get to hold her, knowing she will soon be off and crawling, walking and being independent like her big sis! It looks like baby #3 is not on Nate's agenda so knowing this may be the last baby time is kind of sad. She really is a sweetie! When you see her smile and hear her giggle it is so beautiful! Can't wait for those of you who haven't met her yet to see her in person!

thumb sucker #2

Yes indeed we have another thumb sucker on our hands! Evie has been trying for weeks to find that thumb and the other day she finally got it!! It was so cute! Em was right beside her sucking her thumb and Eves was on the playmat sucking hers! Em started around Easter 2010 (about 5 months old.) I guess Evie was a little more determined!!

evie is 3 months!!

Evie's first milestone!! Yeah! I always look forward to the 3 month mark! Not that I wish away the newborn stage but lets face it everyone.... it's tough! Yes, they are sweet and precious and make cute little cooing noises but the crying, the guessing games, the up all hours of the night. I am just not cut out for that. However, from here on out, I absolutely love every stage!
Evie is smiling all of the time now, kicking, responding to our voices, "talking" and so much more! She is going to bed around 8-8:30 and waking up for one feeding in the middle of the night anywhere between 2:00 and 6:00. She is rather inconsistant when it comes to her middle of the night feeding but she goes right back to sleep and wakes up around 7:00-8:00. Not bad! She laughs and smiles like crazy when she wakes up. Whether it's the middle of the night or just after a nap she is so happy to see us! She is becoming less fussy during the day. Seems to like watching Em play around her. She has been going down for naps easier the past week or so..knock on wood!
I can't believe she is 3 months old! Crazy how each day can seem to drag on but time in general seems to fly by! Evie's smile truly lights up our hearts and has made this already happy home an even happier home!

my baptism

Yesterday I was baptised at our church! It had been a long time coming. I felt moved to be baptised (again) this time by choice back in the fall. Our church does a baptism the last sunday of every month. Lancaster Community Chuch has changed my life after only attending for just over a year. Our pastor, Matt is amazing and my mom's small group every Wednesday has been more of a blessing than I could have ever imagined! Mom and Dad came for the occasion and we celebrated with pizza after the service at Nate and I's favorite pizza joint in town!
I have always considered myself a christian but in the last few months I have come to understand what it really means to have God be the authority in my life! Day after day, week after week, I begin to know more and want to know more! God is all he says he is!!!

2 months old!

Seems like I just wrote about Evie at 1 month! Everyone says the second time around goes so much quicker and they are right!!! Evie is really starting to chunk up a bit! She is getting more of a baby look instead of that newborn look. She is smiling and laughing after naps and while playing on the floor. Still kind of a snacker when it comes to eating. She is now on formula (with my going back to work in 2 weeks) and she is eating anywhere from 3-5 ounces every 2-4 hours. Emmalyn is still very much obsessed with Genevieve. Kissing her, hugging her, getting diapers, always wanting to know first thing after bed "where Evie go?" Evie's 2 month appt is wednesday so we are anxious to see how much she has grown. We finally put away her newborn clothes last week. She has been teasing us with 5-7 hour stretches of sleep at night but then the next night waking up every 2 hours or so. Kind of frustrating, just when you think she has turned a corner...nope, wrong! All in all Genevieve is a sweet baby. Not fussing too much anymore except in the evening for a few hours or when she isn't happy with her position. Boy oh boy is that temper still there though! When she is mad you better be ready because she will let you have it! Still screaming to the point of holding her breath but after a few minutes just shuts it off as quickly as she turns it on! We use to be so concered about it but now we just laugh! Funny how quickly you can get use to something!

We celebrated 2 months by going to Aha to play with friends and then to Max and Ermas for lunch. Evie slept through the entire outing!

getting out and having fun!

Now that I have only 3 weeks to the day until I go back to work I have decided to make the most of the time I have with the girls. Evie has been rather easy to take out considering she will sleep in her carrier most of the time. Tuesday we went to the Lancaster library for the first time. I finally got that library card I have been wanting for 2 years and Em got to enjoy story/craft time. She checked out 2 new Critter books she has been wanting too. Our neighbors met us there for story time and we went to eat at the D.Q. afterwards. Later, after naps we went down the park to kick the soccer ball a little and swing. Evie once again fell asleep in the Ergo carrier and Em wanted to play as long as I would allow. The sun was shining so the 50 degrees didn't feel too cold! Em is getting so good at soccer. She can run and kick the ball and actually direct it too! Big bird was along for the afternoon of course and enjoyed the "sunny day" as well!!!

growing bigger

Here are a few new pics of Evie (Em too.)

She is starting to sleep a little longer at night. Surprising us a couple nights with a 5 hour stretch! She is getting into a sort of schedule during the day. Waking around 8am, taking a 45 minute nap around 10am and going down for a 2-3 hour nap around 2pm. She wakes for dinner and is usually up fussing until bed. She refuses to go to bed anytime before 9:30. Her evening fussy time is starting to decrease somewhat. She will actually play on her playmat and coo for a short while and is actually tolerating her swing. I say tolerating because she usually only lasts about 10 minutes before crying uncontrollably! Yes, indeed we have another fussy baby on our hands. So much for your kids being the complete opposite! She gets better and seems to understand a little more every day and is now smiling at us and has rolled over from back to belly twice on her playmat! Nate and I are convinced she is so mad all the time because her brain is ahead of her body! She is always trying to get somewhere and hits Nate and I in the chest when she is mad! Whew... I sure am thankful for those naps!!
