my baptism

Yesterday I was baptised at our church! It had been a long time coming. I felt moved to be baptised (again) this time by choice back in the fall. Our church does a baptism the last sunday of every month. Lancaster Community Chuch has changed my life after only attending for just over a year. Our pastor, Matt is amazing and my mom's small group every Wednesday has been more of a blessing than I could have ever imagined! Mom and Dad came for the occasion and we celebrated with pizza after the service at Nate and I's favorite pizza joint in town!
I have always considered myself a christian but in the last few months I have come to understand what it really means to have God be the authority in my life! Day after day, week after week, I begin to know more and want to know more! God is all he says he is!!!

2 months old!

Seems like I just wrote about Evie at 1 month! Everyone says the second time around goes so much quicker and they are right!!! Evie is really starting to chunk up a bit! She is getting more of a baby look instead of that newborn look. She is smiling and laughing after naps and while playing on the floor. Still kind of a snacker when it comes to eating. She is now on formula (with my going back to work in 2 weeks) and she is eating anywhere from 3-5 ounces every 2-4 hours. Emmalyn is still very much obsessed with Genevieve. Kissing her, hugging her, getting diapers, always wanting to know first thing after bed "where Evie go?" Evie's 2 month appt is wednesday so we are anxious to see how much she has grown. We finally put away her newborn clothes last week. She has been teasing us with 5-7 hour stretches of sleep at night but then the next night waking up every 2 hours or so. Kind of frustrating, just when you think she has turned a corner...nope, wrong! All in all Genevieve is a sweet baby. Not fussing too much anymore except in the evening for a few hours or when she isn't happy with her position. Boy oh boy is that temper still there though! When she is mad you better be ready because she will let you have it! Still screaming to the point of holding her breath but after a few minutes just shuts it off as quickly as she turns it on! We use to be so concered about it but now we just laugh! Funny how quickly you can get use to something!

We celebrated 2 months by going to Aha to play with friends and then to Max and Ermas for lunch. Evie slept through the entire outing!

getting out and having fun!

Now that I have only 3 weeks to the day until I go back to work I have decided to make the most of the time I have with the girls. Evie has been rather easy to take out considering she will sleep in her carrier most of the time. Tuesday we went to the Lancaster library for the first time. I finally got that library card I have been wanting for 2 years and Em got to enjoy story/craft time. She checked out 2 new Critter books she has been wanting too. Our neighbors met us there for story time and we went to eat at the D.Q. afterwards. Later, after naps we went down the park to kick the soccer ball a little and swing. Evie once again fell asleep in the Ergo carrier and Em wanted to play as long as I would allow. The sun was shining so the 50 degrees didn't feel too cold! Em is getting so good at soccer. She can run and kick the ball and actually direct it too! Big bird was along for the afternoon of course and enjoyed the "sunny day" as well!!!

growing bigger

Here are a few new pics of Evie (Em too.)

She is starting to sleep a little longer at night. Surprising us a couple nights with a 5 hour stretch! She is getting into a sort of schedule during the day. Waking around 8am, taking a 45 minute nap around 10am and going down for a 2-3 hour nap around 2pm. She wakes for dinner and is usually up fussing until bed. She refuses to go to bed anytime before 9:30. Her evening fussy time is starting to decrease somewhat. She will actually play on her playmat and coo for a short while and is actually tolerating her swing. I say tolerating because she usually only lasts about 10 minutes before crying uncontrollably! Yes, indeed we have another fussy baby on our hands. So much for your kids being the complete opposite! She gets better and seems to understand a little more every day and is now smiling at us and has rolled over from back to belly twice on her playmat! Nate and I are convinced she is so mad all the time because her brain is ahead of her body! She is always trying to get somewhere and hits Nate and I in the chest when she is mad! Whew... I sure am thankful for those naps!!
